Rectangular / Sandwich Mountings

Sandwich or Rectangular mountings are termed ’Sandwich’ as they comprise of rubber sections sandwiched or bonded between metal plates.

The Rectangular / Sandwich mountings are available with plate or stud fixings and can be loaded directly in compression or shear, or a combination of both.  In order to change the ratio of shear to compression stiffness Rectangular / Sandwich mounts can be supplied with or without interleaves and with sleeves for engine mounts.

The rugged construction and large load carrying capacity of sandwich mounts / rectangular mounts are widely used for suspending engines on road vehicles and mobile construction plant. The larger size sandwich mountings are used as vehicle suspension springs and as mountings for acoustic chambers, hoppers and various types of heavy plant installation. Sandwich mounts may also be employed as springs for vibratory equipment and in generator sets.
